In Gordon Brown's last budget he pledged to:

• Double investment in science
• Encourage greater co-operation between business and Universities
• Increase Research & Development tax credits

Over the past few years, despite lots of events telling companies about tax credits, too few companies have claimed because of lack of clarity and too much form filling. These workshops have been designed to make it easier for you. They will:

• explain how R&D Tax Credits work
• assess whether you are eligible
• inform you on how to claim

Keynote Speaker

Sam Vanags, Tax Partner, Grant Thornton Previously with KPMG, Vanags joined Grant Thornton in 2000 as a tax manager and created the firm's Research & Development (R&D) tax specialist group. She speaks regularly at seminars and conferences and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and Chartered Institute of Taxation. Core to Sam's role is helping businesses with R&D tax support.  She also leads tax advisory assignments, particularly corporate acquisitions and disposals.

You will leave this workshop following a talk by Grant Thornton, knowing whether to proceed with claiming or not and so make better use of your time!

There will also be an opportunity to meet some advisors and discuss your one to one business case as their may be an opportunity to apply for other relief or participate in other schemes of support.
