Heartlands Medipark is a vision which is now starting to take shape: - The Master Plan has been approved
- Outline planning permission has been granted
- Public transport to the front of the hospital is planned
- Regeneration bodies support the scheme to boost the local economy
Working in partnership Aston Science Park, Heartlands Hospital and Birmingham City Council have brought forward plans to transform an area of former playing fields sitting next to Heartlands Hospital in Bordesley Green into a state of the art Medipark. The Medipark will provide opportunities for medical companies to locate next to Heartlands Hospital and to take advantage of the research facilities. Commercialisation of new medical innovations will follow. The plans include an incubation facility which will allow new businesses to establish and grow. Through the Master Plan and Outline Planning Permission consent is available for 11,000 square metres of Medipark business space, together with 12,400 square metres of hospital/healthcare related research and development.
