A Grand Union

July 7, 2006

Meeting by the banks of the Grand Union Canal today  (Friday, 7 July 2006) were Jonathan Bostock, MD of BMG Research, and Peter Hayes, joint MD of Quadrant Consultants, who are celebrating the sucess of their partnership in winning a listing in the Catalist framework for marketing consultancy and market research.

The partnership of Quadrant, a leading London based marketing and management consultancy, and BMG Research, a major social and market research agency, brings together the best skills from both companies, providing a seamless combination of the marketing and research disciplines.

The Catalist framework provides customers in the public sector with a further route to access Quadrant / BMG’s services at competitive rates. Users of Catalist will also benefit from the ease and efficiency of the procurement process as the roster already complies with EU procurement directives. This means that Catalist clients do not need to tender in open competition saving time and money in the procurement process.

“We are delighted to have been included on the Catalist roster,” said Peter Hayes, Joint Managing Director of Quadrant, at today’s meeting. “We will be able to deploy the skills we have developed across many public and private sectors on behalf of Catalist clients.”

Jonathan Bostock, BMG Research’s Managing Director, added: “We believe our wealth of experience in research for public sector clients was a key factor in our selection, and will prove to be a major benefit for Catalist customers.”

Decisions taken at the top of our public service organisations are increasingly informed by a marketing plan and market research evidence. The marketing approach ensures that the appropriate services are delivered to the intended users. The research approach informs front line teams with what works well and where focus is needed.

“You need the top team to sponsor a marketing and research approach but the outcomes and plans should be familiar to all customer facing teams and capable of being informed or improved by real learning,” says Hayes.

Quadrant and BMG have worked together and separately for a diverse range of organisations across both the public and private sectors. Clients include COI, The Learning and Skills Council, Home Office, DfES, DTI, local authorities, police forces, health authorities, housing associations, the Open University, Post Office Ltd, RS Components, General Electric Company, Corus and Geopost.

“We believe our joint approach, combining research rigour with consultancy insight, delivers high quality outcomes which are evidence based, practical and innovative,” said Jonathan. “We are looking forward to helping public sector clients improve their service and set direction effectively and efficiently,” he added.
