Five members of the Aston Science Park team, joined with tenants UK Business Incubation to run the ‘Race for Life’ at Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham, yesterday evening. Eve Gaut, Jodie Batchelor, Tahreen Kutub, Jackie Taylor and Karen Palmer joined with Toni Wanklin to run the 5km race, all in the name of the Cancer Research UK charity. Aston Science Park was in fact the first business to join BRMB presenter Tammy Gooding on the ‘Race for Life’ stage with the company flag. With the team in such high spirits Tammy actually commented: "‘I wish I could come and work for Aston Science Park!’". The team all managed to complete the race within an hour, and were welcomed with a picnic from Matthew Hidderley, Aston Science Park’s Marketing and Sales Manager. Matthew enthused ‘It was excellent to go along and offer my support to the team who all worked incredibly hard to make the Race for Life a huge success’. Eve Gaut, Aston Science Park’s Marketing and Events Executive and also one of the runners, commented ‘It has been great to be part of such an enthusiastic and determined team. Every one has put tremendous effort into fundraising and it has clearly paid off with our fundraising target in sight. Now we must start preparing for Race for Life 2009’.
