Plenty To Smile About

Whatever it was they said, it certainly brought a big laugh out of Marc Reeves, Editor of The Birmingham Post – which has just been voted as Regional Newspaper of the Year in the 2008 Newspaper Awards sponsored by Production Journal. The awards celebrate excellence in design and print quality.

Marc, who is to be a guest speaker at Aston Science Park’s “Public Relations & The Media” event on Wednesday, October 29, is pictured with Jodie Batchelor (left) and Eve Gaut, from the park’s Marketing & Communications team. The occasion was Birmingham Press Club’s highly successful “Meet the Media” evening, which was co-sponsored by science park tenant company, Mediascope.

Matthew Hidderley, Marketing & Sales Manager of Aston Science Park, said:  “We are delighted that Marc has agreed to take part in our PR & Media event, which is always one of the most popular and well-attended events of our Seminars for Success programme.

“The Birmingham Post plays a key role in the continuing promotion of Birmingham as a  leading business city – and the newspaper’s enduring popularity is clearly demonstrated by the fact that it has just celebrated its 150th anniversary,” added Matthew.

Also taking part in the October 29 event are Elisabeth Lewis-Jones, a director of Bromsgrove-based Liquid Public Relations, who is this year’s national president of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations; Ranbir Sahota, director of VITIS PR and Sally Finn, senior press officer at Aston University.
