Aston Science Park undertakes direct consultancy assignments through delivering business support programmes including european initiatives to businesses throughout the UK.
The Park currently manages three of the projects within the Advantage West Midlands’ ICT Cluster, including the umbrella organisation, the West Midlands ICT Hub. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is one of the ten priority clusters specified in the AWM programme. ICT is important to the West Midlands for two reasons. Firstly, output from firms within the sector accounts for a significant proportion (6%) of regional output. Second, as an enabling set of technologies, ICT supports almost all sectors of the economy. Hence, the creation of a dynamic and successful ICT cluster in the West Midlands will have a substantial knock-on benefit for the regional economy as a whole. (Source: www.wmictcluster.org)
