Telephony Services

A modern organisation cannot function without a telephone line.  Aston Science Park’s telephone system provides a variety of services including in-call functions, call answering and diverting facilities and good value for money on call charges to every destination.We use several suppliers to ensure that we provide our tenants with the highest possible level of service.  Our staff are available on site from 9 until 5, Monday to Friday to deliver and support the service. With our range of internal, direct dial, huntgroup and call-centre facilities we can tailor a solution to match both your needs and budget.   • Non-Geographic Numbers:

    Aston Science Park can arrange a non-geographic number for your company.  This will be directed to a DDI which we will also provide.  Non geographic numbers are intended to give your company a national identity, present a more professional image and fix the cost of calls to your customers, wherever in the UK they are calling from.  There are several types of non geographic numbers available including:
    0800 (freephone) 
    You pay the cost of the call, meaning that it is free for your customer
    0845 (Local rate)
    Your customers can call you from anywhere in the UK and only be charged the cost of  a local call.
    0870 (national rate) 
    Your customers cal call you from anywhere in the UK and be charges the cost of a national call.
  • Call Forwarding & Voicemail:

    The Aston Science Park telephone system ensures that you never miss a call.  Our line rental includes a fully customisable voicemail, which means that your customers and suppliers can leave you a message if you are out of the office or on the phone.  You can either access your voicemail directly from your extension or remotely to collect your messages.  As an alternative to voicemail, the Aston Science Park phone system gives you the ability to forward your line directly to an external number*, such as a mobile, meaning that even if you are out of the office you are not out of touch.

*Calls diverted to external numbers will incur charges at the outgoing call rate

  • Hunt Group Numbers:

    We can allocate your company a single direct dial number.  This will be able to accept simultaneous incoming calls.  Your employees can either have internal only extensions or each have a direct dial extension, and when a call is received the system will search for free extensions to receive the call.  This would allow you to publish a sales number, for example, which would search for an available member of staff to take the call.  If the member of staff has a direct dial number then this can be given to the customer for future calls rather than go through the huntgroup to ensure that they customer always speaks to the same member of staff.  A huntgroup can also be linked to a non-geographic number.
  • In-call Features:

    Other features which are included in all telephone services as standard are:
    Call Transfer 
    Allows you to forward an active call to a colleague.
    Missed Call
    Alerts you to a missed call and shows the number (if available) of the person that tried to call you.
    Call Pickup
    Allows you to answer a call to a colleagues phone from your own extension.
    Call Waiting
    Lets you know, if you are on another call, that another caller is trying to contact you.
    Callback 
    If another internal extension is engaged, you can set a callback so that you will be called once the extension becomes available
  • Additional Services:

    Three Way Calling 
    You can call 2 other participants and make a conference call using the Aston Science Park telephone.  The other parties can either be internal or external parties, and all you will be charged is the cost of the 2 calls.
    Speed Dialling
    Store your most regularly used numbers in the phone and dial them without having to look up the number.
    Redial 
    Redial the last number you called.
    Set Permissions 
    Bar your phones from calling certain numbers, for example limit the calls to internal only.
    Time Sensitive Routing 
    Route your calls depending on the time of day.  Allows you to record a message such as “Thank you for calling us, our office hours are from 9 am to 5 pm, please call back between these hours and we will be happy to address your query.”
    Itemised Billing
    Can be sent in hard copy or an excel spreadsheet to allow you to analyse your calls.
    Caller Display
    Displays the telephone number (if available) of the person calling you.
    Headsets
    Headsets can be linked to the phone to allow you to make and receive calls without lifting the receiver.
    Speaker Phones
    Ideal for on the hook calls or conference calls involving several people in the same room.
    Free Internal Calls
    No charges are made for calls that remain on our network.


Costs
Each phone line will carry a £15+VAT per month rental charge

Each line will have its own voicemail, the ability to transfer calls around the office, the ability to forward calls to mobiles when individuals are not in the office. There is a setup charge per individual phone. The first phone is charged at £65+VAT.

This rental charge includes a handset, which will support handsfree (speakerphone), can host 3 way conference calls and support other functions such as speed dialling. Click here to download the call tariff.
